How I did it: I drove twenty minutes up the road to the L.L.Bean flagship store in Freeport, Maine and we bought two bikes. They'd been out of stock of the ones we wanted, so we learned from the staff when the next shipment of bikes was coming in and went up an hour after they arrived and snapped them up. How I did it: We decided to move 3,000 miles... without a moving truck or trailer. Deciding that we would severely downsize our possessions and decline to rent from a moving company is saving us thousands of dollars.
