control my diabetes

I just started Protein Power (limited carbohydrates) a couple of days ago - Bernstein’s sounds a little too drastic in the long-term, but I do want to read his book - and already the effect on my BG checks has been striking. Yesterday I never got above 100 mg/dL, not once, and I measured several times—when I got up, before lunch, 1 hr after lunch, 2 hrs after lunch, 1 hr after dinner, 2 hrs after dinner, right before bed. 88, 87, 95, 96, 91, 100, and 90, respectively. This morning’s was 91. To say the least this is a big difference. Two days ago that was 139, 123, 139, 160, 137, 125, n/a, respectively. So it’s got my attention. Keeping with it to see how things develop.

I’m diet and exercise only, btw.

Research my genealogy

I’ve actually made recent progress with this, which is what brought it to mind—I’m using http://rfrancis.familytreeguide.com/ to build a family tree there but it’s slow going getting stuff actually entered.

update my wardrobe
in with the new... 3 years ago

I bought about a dozen new shirts of various styles, fabrics and cuts, plus a couple of new pairs of jeans, and the usual socks and underwear sorts of things. My goal is to buy a new pair of jeans every few months, about one new shirt a month (starting sometime, not necessarily immediately what with all the new ones I have) and keep things cycled in.

But!

Cycling out… that’s what I need to do. I have a bunch of stuff I won’t wear. And probably more that I shouldn’t. So that’s definitely still a goal!
