... and I still have 7 babies left! They’re growing fast. They’re in a proper tank now and are greedy little buggers :)
They’re still silver, I don’t know when they’ll get colours, but they’re pretty cute. I honestly can’t believe they’re doing so well.

I’ve been much more proactive in the kitchen recently, I’ve cooked quite a few meals and I’m baking lots too :) I’m actually really enjoying it, which has come as a big surprise to me but it’s really great and I’m glad I’m no longer completely useless in the kitchen!

Now the babies are… um… 6 weeks old! Yay! I have 9 out of 13 left, 4 didn’t make it. Given that the average mortality rate is 50% and the most dangerous times for them are the 1st and 4th weeks of life (and I guess the time when the parents might eat the eggs!) I think I’m doing pretty well. I’m loving the whole thing really. It’s very interesting to see them develop and grow. Some of them are getting pretty big (compared to some of the others, anyway – still nowhere near big enough to put in with the ‘big fish’ but they’re getting there. If all 9 survive I’ll have to rehome most of them but I’m hoping to keep at least 2 or 3 for myself. I guess it’s unlikely all of them will make it but I’m hoping most of them will, of course.
:)
