I would love to do this, and I’ve had it as a goal on 43things for a while. However, it will have to wait. :( I’m sad about that, since I know I will enjoy learning it. Since I have young children, I do have to prioritize, and my major focus is deeping my yoga practice and heading toward a certification. Learning Sanskrit words (and the concepts behind them) will be a natural part of that, but probably not an indepth study of the language itself.

I’m moving. We have to have the house in showing condition. We stored a lot of junk in a POD (that service where they bring a storage shed to your yard, you fill it, and they take it away. There’s also stuff in the attic.
HOWEVER, we got rid of a lot of things. We took a lot to the dump, and donated a lot to Goodwill. So I’m happy about the reduction of volume of stuff we own.
I think we are going to need another pass or two before we get it down to what we want. Having stuff in the POD (and the attic where it is more or less inaccessible) will give us a chance to re-evaluate what we really want to keep.
For people who are not moving, maybe a similar strategy will work. Just put a lot of stuff in a storage facility for a month, one where you have to pay to get access in the interim. While doing this, throw stuff away and take to Goodwill or a church. When you get the stuff back after a month or so, take another pass at it and take more to the dump/Goodwill.
So, in early January, I’ll be doing an Anusara immersion. I haven’t figured out how to pay for it yet, but I’ve already put this off twice because of other circumstances. So, this January, it’s time. Six months, one weekend a month.
I’m ready!
