I will try designing t-shirts and buttons to put the word out.
but I need to think up some shady little spready plants that don’t mind being trodden on.
Outside the back door there are peas a-sprouting! They’re about 10 inches high now, and beginning to twirl around their supports. I’m a few days away from being able to harvest enough mesclun lettuce for a petite salad or so.
Still waiting…..for heirloom tomato, pole bean and charentais melon seedlings to sprout.
In the front garden, the grape popsicle-coloured tulips are blooming and it looks like the pom-pom juniper made it through the excruciating Canadian winter. Today, before the excruciating Victoria Day weekend begins its downpour, I will underplant with wee purple annuals and hang up charming Arts & Crafts inspired hanging baskets. All are welcome to stop by and say hello and offer counter suggestions!

I like to be calm and serene. The best way to achieve this for me is to have calm and organized surroundings. I want to distill the things I have decided to keep and make space for them to be enjoyed properly. After that- yard sale?
The main floor and the second floor and my studio are all newly organized. I took apart all the loose photos and sorted them into appropriate boxes. The kitchen is now properly streamlined. Next stop: craft room and garden room in the basement and sewing room on the third floor.

I moved the painting out of the studio upstairs so that I could picture it in situ, in the main room. A lot of time has passed and I have not been able to make the move to finish. I keep thinking of whimsical ideas, or ironic “punch-lines” to complete it- but that’s the illustrator side that won’t go away.

I don’t know why the last few challenges have turned up as ‘failed’ on the past challenges list. They were not failures in the slightest. I must have failed to press the right keys to log the successes. What cheek to suggest failure to an overachiever!
