study Asatru and it's practices
I am by no means an expert, but I have studied...

Unfortunately, I’m rather alone in the heathen world, living in a relatively remote northern Canadian city.

My studying is all lore and no practice…

But they call Asatru “the religion with homework” for a reason and I love the challenge of learning it all!

Start an Asatru group/kindred in my city
Whitehorse has no Asatruar.

Since moving to Whitehorse in June 2007, I have found one other Asatruar besides myself and a friend I moved up with. I do not consider myself knowledgeable enough to take on this task, but if I don’t do it who will? How many people are heathen and don’t even know it?

My plan is to start with a “Norse Mythology” study group and see who is more interested after that.

I would consider myself lucky and successful if I’ve gotten that off the ground before Yule.

Microdermals!

I was at I Kandy at the end of March getting a tattoo done, and I decided to talk to Matt about Microdermals. We’d discussed it a year before, but now I had the money and wanted to go for it. My first thought was that I wanted to get one under each collarbone, but he recommended against this as it is an area that moves a lot and it would be more likely to reject.

I then decided to get them around my navel: I have one below, and one above, my belly button, giving it the appearance at first glance of a surface bar, but obviously there is no bar going through my navel!

They look great and healed well, though the top one does not lay completely flat and button-up blouses sometimes snag on it. I’ve learned to be very careful though, and definitely think they’re the most versatile, amazing piercing you can get!
