Unfortunately, I had to give this one up, because the Monastery closed. (It’s got a big For Lease sign in the window.)

That’s the tricky part about Cleveland – you can’t get too attached to anything, because chances are good that it’s not going to make it. If this tea shop had been in Greenwich Village, it would’ve been impossible to ever get a table….



find the mysterious abandoned subway station in the Flats

This was truly one of the most interesting things I’ve ever done in Cleveland. Every Memorial Day, July 4, and Labor Day, the County Engineers open up the old subway station at the west end of the Detroit-Superior bridge for tours. I learned that in the 1950s, Cleveland sold all of its streetcars to Toronto, which still has a streetcar system, unlike us.
