master cleanse
Master Cleanse is the Best 2 months ago

I first heard about the Master Cleanser diet while watching Ellen DeGeneres who had Beyonce Knowles as a guest. Beyonce talked about how she got ready for her role in Dreamgirls and she mentioned this diet where she ate no food and only drank lemonade. I thought nothing of it because honestly hearing someone say they only drink lemonade all day is simply not appealing. You might as well say you eat coffee grounds for breakfast. Then my wife recently who had talked with an old school friend about getting on something called the Master Cleanse diet. She read the book and bought one for me and we started. The first day my wife wanted to quit and start fresh the next day. So we did and it has been great so far!

I’ve been on the Master Cleanse for approximately 3 weeks and it’s been an amazing journey. It has allowed to me to not only focus on my health but to clearly understand what I’m suppossed to feel like. I’ve been filling my body with toxins for so long I have started to believe that it’s normal to feel sluggish and tired. So far I’ve lost 16 lbs and still counting. I’ve also made a conscious choice to eat more vegetarian meals instead of a meal consisting of meat, bread, veggies, etc;.

I would mark this as done but I don’t feel done since I’m not the weight that I want to be. Here are a few friendly tips to get you going.

1.First and foremost READ THE BOOK!!! I’ve tried a lot of diets of the years some good and some bad. The biggest mistake I’ve seen people make when starting a diet is not properly learning how to do the diet. You will do yourself a great diservice by skipping this book. With everything you do their must always be a WHY factor. A question that you answer by starting, staying, and completing the cleanse. For me I wanted to change my diet but I didn’t really know how. The booked put things in perspective. Did I also mention the book is less than $10 online?

(Burroughs, Stanley (1976). The Master Cleanser. Burroughs Books ISBN 0963926209)

2.Don’t modify the recipe for the lemonade. The lemonade should taste like regular lemonade. Don’t listen to those who say they can’t stomach the taste, they didn’t read the book and don’t know the correct measurements. The biggest mistake is the measurement for the cayenne pepper (less than 1/4 tsp). People are taking cayenne pills to thwart off the taste of the lemonade which isn’t properly prepared

3.Start small and work your way up. There are people online who claim to have gone for 40 days or longer. Stanley Burroughs in his book actually recommends you only go this long when you have serious health problems. Start with 3 days, when you hit your third day keep going to one week and so on. This way you can set goals that are realistic for you. Your greatest challenge on the Master Cleanser diet is the temptation to cheat. I recommend you not get into snacking or cheating until you’ve reached a point in the diet where you can resist snacking behavior, say 10 lbs or more.

4.You will find that not focusing your time on eating you have a lot of free time on your hands. It’s amazing when you realize just how much time you spend obsessing over food. The Master Cleanser diet will help you overcome this so get active with your new found free time. By filling in the gaps you will be on your way to changing not just your appearance but your lifestyle. Have fun!!!

locate my relatives
Searching for family 2 months ago

I grew up not knowing a lot about my father’s family. A few years ago he died and I never got the chance to be introduced to all of my family which I’ve never met. I want to locate and find those people and connet to them as family.

take a gourmet cooking class
Cooking to be healthy 2 months ago

I grew up around people who were great cooks. I discovered after getting married to a wife that wasn’t a great cook that I actually have a talent for cooking. I watch the Food Network like most men watch football or basketball. I want to learn gourmet food preparation so I can both increase my repertoire of things to cook but also to gain a keen understanding of presentation techniques.
