I’ve been doing pretty well with this lately. Paying all my credit cards down… slowly, and not charging anything just paying cash for now. When I have saved enough I’ll start paying off my big debts (car, student loans, etc.)

I’ve found that the more sleep I get in a night, the more tired I am the next day. I think 6-7 hours is the right amount for me. If I get more than that I am groggy all day and can’t get to sleep the next night.
I bought chrome storage shelves just for this!
Today I’m washing and hanging all my clothes up and then putting all my boxes of books in storage.
I’m going to buy a new desk and organize it too.
I am in a new relationship and everything is great except for that he is in the middle of a divorce. Last night his ex interrupted our date with an hour long phone call. I don’t think this is healthy.
I really hate being outside. There are bugs and dirt and weather… I have a 5-yr-old and need to do this for him. I just can’t stand being away from my climate controlled, irritant free space. :(
I just moved and threw everything I own randomly into boxes (I’m also a procrastinator). Yesterday I bought clear plastic storage boxes in various sizes so as I unpack I can organize my stuff. I plan to toss at least half of what I packed (don’t know why I didn’t toss it instead of packing it). I’ll let you know how it goes.
I put the alarm in another room, set the time 15 minutes fast, set the alarm for 15 minutes before I had to get up… I still hit the snooze button three times before I got up and realized I still had three minutes to sleep (my snooze goes off every nine minutes).
I went to California three weeks ago to visit family. I drove from Texas with my 5 yr old. It was great to be able to get away from everything and although it was stressful at times, it was far less stressful than my normal life. We went to Disneyland, Universal Studios, Sea World and all the rest of that touristy stuff. It was great!
Next weekend we are going to Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels, TX for the weekend. I can’t wait!
My mom just bought a new car and I decided to go to her house to clean out space in her garage for it. Most of the things there were my old clutter from when I lived there. It was amazing! After a few hours (including detailing her old car to sell) there was room enough for two cars! And I only had to get rid of a box of papers from 1987… along with some other junk. It’s amazing what people hold on to!
Tomorrow I am taking an entire SUV full of items to donate to charity. Items include a 13” b&w TV, 2 trash bags full of clothes, 1 trash bag full of shoes, 2 boxes of toys, a very old mini fridge, a highchair, and a set of encyclopedias.
Well, I got hired today at a mid sized architectural firm as an intern earning $18 per hour. I think it’s a step in the right direction! ;)
I think I chose the wrong profession to be well paid. Everyone thinks Architects make butt-loads of money, and some do, but only after 20-50 years of experience. Also, the requirements to become licensed as an Architect are as stringent as those for doctors or lawyers (but with 50-80% less pay). I’m talented and have excelled in my current position as an Architectural Intern; I even supervise two other interns after only 6 months on the job. I just don’t see myself making the kind of money I want to make any time soon, especially since I’ve had a streak of bad luck lately and have had to miss a few too many days in the last month or so (won’t look good on my annual review).
I am considering going back to school to become an Engineer. As an EIT (Engineer in Training) I would be earning twice my current salary and if I participate in the ROTC program while I get my degree I can become an Air Force officer and be earning 50% more money right out of school, with the possibility of more than doubling my salary within three years. Of course this would require more student loans but I think it would be worth it. Or maybe I should consider becoming a doctor; do you think they would let me into medical school with a degree in architecture?
I wanted to do this until I found out I don’t have free texting. I’ve gotten faster and learned a few tricks but it’s not worth it if I can’t use it!
I just came across the most interesting web site, http://www.bookcrossing.com/home
People register themselves, register their read books, then pass them along for others to read. The site gives an ID number to each book to “track” its journey.
Wow! What a great way to clean up your cluttered book shelves!

I had a momentary lapse (I went out at lunch and lit up). Work was just going by soooooo slowly, especially after the long weekend. But I started to get light headed halfway through and I tossed the rest of the cigarette out. I thought to myself “Why am I doing this? Boredom? I can find something else to do!!!” Yay!
