i’ve begun meditating about 20 minutes a day, most days. i also go to the local meditation center to sit for an hour 2x/week. this week i did a half-day sitting… amazing. i was so awed by how intense a long meditation was (3+ hours). this is becoming more and more intriguing to me, and i’m noticing some basic changes in the way i react to my thoughts on a moment to moment basis. this is something to continue and deepen.

It’s true. There’s a recreational sprint triathalon June 28th, and though I haven’t registered, I think I should soon. 1/4 mile swim, 10 mile bike, 2.6 mile run. I can do all those things seperately, now the trick is to get them together, right! :) My goal is to have fun and finish. If I love it, then I can easily continue training for more serious sprint tri’s in the pacific northwest this summer. This triathalon is really pretty early in the season, which makes it a good trial. In researching and going to a triathalon clinic, it seems that these folks are pretty hardcore and total gearheads. Hope nobody minds my mountain bike and running shorts!
This felt so difficult for me…. but the relief of it being over is tremendous. Freedom… I need to care for myself better, and this is a good step.
