Went on a cruise where one of the offshore excursions was to swim with dolphins or stingrays. My daughter, about 5 at the time, and I chose the dolphins. Spousal Unit elected the stingrays. It was totally fun, but the water was cold (February). We now live in Florida and dolphins and manatee are available for swimming sessions in our own back yard. One of life’s incredible experiences. Dolphins are smooth, sleek and a bit slippery. Manatee are lumpy and bumpy with barnacles and scars from boat propellers. Both are quite curious and will approach the seawalls in search of that water coming out of the garden hose…..all the neighbors get really excited to see them up close, and it’s great being in the water with them.

It didn’t hurt for longer than two seconds really. The hardest part was driving there. My partner and I love it.
