The Artists Way 2 years ago

My fiancée started going to school for textile design (building on top of her BFA), during the first class they were all assigned to pick up the Artists Way by Julia Cameron and proceed through the book. I’ve had a copy of the book for years but never read through it, now we’re working as a team to finish it and encourage each other along the way. Thats a lead in to the first exercise of the book “Morning Pages” where you do a 3 page free write every morning to purge thoughts to help clear your mind and move on into the day. I’ve founds it’s really helpful and can really influence the direction your day will go.

I don’t feel compelled to write a novel, but that was never my intention for this goal, so I feel fine checking this off the list.

Occupational hazard 2 years ago

Through determination, timing and good fortune I was hired at Odopod as a flash developer. Working with some truly incredible people I’ve been steadily taking my talents to another level. I feel my more recent understanding of theory and growing comfort of practice make me confident in checking this item off my list.

accept compliments gracefully
Once you start, it gets easier. 2 years ago

It all started awkwardly, I’d just say “thank you” when someone complimented me… take a moment to reflect on the compliment and it’s implications then move on. From there it became easier to take the compliment comfortably and cordially. It then became easier to know when it would be considerate to return a compliment or when it wasn’t necessary.
