How do you blog well? Either it’s too personal (my problem right now), or you’re embarassing yourself with ranting about stuff you are misinformed about (most political blogs). So here’s my blog, what needs to change?

Sailing is definitely great. I can’t believe I sat on boring old powerboats for so long.
Now I just need a boat I’ve got regular access too…
I realize this may well happen everywhere someday, but I hope I will never ever vote for any initiative as silly as this. My objection is threefold. First, there is a distinctive and obnoxious officiousness about the proponents for this smoking ban. While it may be a bad idea to vote against an issue because you dislike the people who are passionately devoted to the it, I won’t be the first person to do so. Second, and more seriously, Washington state needs to get its priorities straight if it wants to really be the progressive, independent, thinking state that it (or at least the Western half of it) prides itself on being. A smoking ban is mean-spirited and ill-conceived. The public health benefits are questionable, and if bar-goers are really clamoring for non-smoking establishments, then I have no doubt that the enterprising types who open up bars will provide. Finally, I really don’t want people getting an idea that any time there is a new public-health fad, that it’s a great time to get the government involved. What’s next? Manditory low-carb options for kindergartners?
The proposed ban is CRAP.
