It’s now 12:35am and I am still awake. My daughter has a cold and my husband is working in our bedroom where it’s quiet. Since the her birth he has been working at home. Since he owns his own business that means he pretty much works around the clock – or whenever he can squeeze in a quiet moment. This is a good and bad thing for me. I am glad he is here to take the baby when I am at my wits end but on the other hand since he works a lot we end up staying up longer to talk or watch movies and have some “us” time. Oh well, maybe tomorrow will be better!

I gave birth to a sweet baby girl in November. For anyone who has had a baby you know that newborns are total night owls. To make matters worst I have been staying up watching bad TV till 2:00am almost every night. This way I “think” the night isn’t has long as it seems – stupid I know!
Now I am stuck in a sleep rut where I no longer seem tired until 2:00am. Oh yeah did I forget to mention that I already have a 2 year old son that wakes up at 8:00am for daycare? Thank goodness my husband wakes up with him but usually I am awake to see him off. I have to get back to a normal sleep routine otherwise I think I will slowly go insane! HELP!
Last July (2006) I went on a “Family Roadtrip” with my husband, 18 month old sone, sister-in-law, mother and father-in law to Virginia Beach. We visited Washington DC for one day and I was totally taken by the city.
We only had time to visit the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, and a few War Memorials. I was totally surprised at how much I loved our time spent there. The history of the city is fascinating. Even though our family has grown – we had a baby girl in November, I would love to revisit the city and really have the time to enjoy it.
