I’ve completly run out of money, i’m down £36 quid in the bank, and i’m not entirely sure whether i’m gonna be charged for being overdrawn. Since I didn’t think about it at the time. My last job, lifeguarding for childrens swimming, ended because my license ran out, and i can not be arsed to re do the whole thing. Plus sitting down and staring at things for many hours in temperatures of over 30 degrees (celsius) has lost its appeal.
Even without money i still manage to get by, i’ve borrowed way to much off my mum, and my Dad is shit, so doesn’t give me anything. I managed to wrangle £20 off a friend by giving him £23 worth of euros. I still have a £5 book voucher that no one will exchange for hard cash. So i had to get a job.
I put togther my first ever CV, which looked kinda silly with stuff like Newspaper Boy on it, but it’ll have to do. I even did one of those little profile things, where you basically have to lie about yourself in the third person, writing stuff like, “A dedicated and good humoured individual”, i wish i could just tell the truth, “A deciveing individual, who will probably steal the office supplies, be rude to customers with money to spend, but will spend hours talking to customers who are broke”. Anyway, so far i’ve appllied to a bunch of shitty shops, such as Virgin Megastores. Working there would be hell on earth, as i hate pretty much all the music they sell there. I applied to waterstones, they have a little section with a few essay questions, asking you why you think waterstones is great. I basically said I admired their dedication to literature, and bookselling. Again, if i was being honest i would rant about how they put every decent bookshop out of business, and are probably partly responsible for the fact that the only books most people have read are harry potter and the Da Vinci Code.
There are some slacker looking jobs as well, including one at a guiatr job that i have never seen anyone buy anything in, and also at the university bookshop, which looks empty most of the time. I would love either one, but i reckon i’d be perfect for the univeristy one.
Anyway, i haven’t heard anything yet, which isn’t good. But the search continues. Of course if some rich benefactor wants to hire me to do very little work, such as blogging or just sleeping. Then i’m the perfect candidate.
