I wouldn’t want to be rich or wealthy. I just want to be financially secure. Out of debt and able to afford a few luxuries. A new car that we can depend on and are not affriad of breaking down everytime we drive it. A home and I don’t mean a trailer house either. Having my children in decent clothing and shoes, no worrying if they can get new clothes when they outgrow the ones they got. Not have to worry where our next meal will come from. Not worry that the utilities will be turned off before we get a payment in.
You know, with gas prices and food prices on the rise, I find it difficult to even get enough food to feed us each and every week and still have enough to put gas in our car to get my husband back and forth to work. He has been at his current job for four years now and in that time has recieved raises totaling $1.15! That’s 0.287 cents per year! Not much of a raise considering that the minimum wage raises were higher than that and they didn’t seem to affect those already getting more that minimum wage.
My husband makes $11.15/hour on a 60 hour work-week That comes to $780.60 Gross Pay. Part of his check goes to his ex-wife($200), about $200 goes to our health insurance and 401K and Taxes. That leaves about $380 to pay utilities & loans, buy food & fuel, and get medications, ect. My husband is also ill and sees a doctor monthly and recently has been seeing specialists. If he has to stop working, we don’t know what to do. Disability insurance and SS Disabilty will not cover all our important expenses. We still have a four year old child and my disabled mother living at home.
So, yeah… Be Financially Secure!

My husband & I want to be mostly self-suffient. We already live in a rural area on approximatley 300 acres. We have one female calf about 4 months old, which later will provide us with additional calves and milk. We have chickens, which lay eggs. We have 2 horses, which provide transportation around the land. The nearest town is 10 miles away in either direction. We grow a garden every spring for fresh vegatables and canning. My parents-in-laws also grow a garden (larger & better) and raise cattle for food. We usually help split the cost of butchering with them for a portion of the meat. And we get vegatables out of thier garden, as well.
We plan to get solar panels for electricity. We had a generator that we used to use during power outages, but someone stole it.
We have also been researching alternative fuels for use in vehicles and farm equipment.
I could not possibly bring myself to butcher my own animals, myself. But I’m not above paying someone else to do for me!
I have tried several dozen work at home SCAMS. Still looking for something that I can work from home, without breaking our meager pocket book.
