How I did it: Every night before going ot bed, I pick up my Bible, which lies waiting on my nightstand. I read at least a chapter or two, with a pen in my hand, and I mull over everything that I see in society, movies, media. I make connections to the text and the advice that my Bible offers, and bracket or underline verses that strike me as definitive. Marking my Bible makes reading more interactive, and helps me focus instead of skimming. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I began to see things in a different light. I tried harder and harder to look out for other people. I learned to find happiness in all things trivial or serious. And most importantly I learned that it's okay not to be happy sometimes; that it's the tastes of unhappiness that let one actually learn to rejoice in the things that are good in life. I don’t want to have to explain myself all the time.
but I try to expand my vocabulary constantly,
those Webster Electronic Dictionaries do wonders.
I now can’t pass a new word without having to know what it means.
