Today I received my email packet of information on how to start a DBSA support group. It’s a lot to digest, but it narrows the field of what I need to do to make this happen.
1. Find people to help me get it started.
2. Establish an initial meeting place and time.
3. Get the word out so there will be meeting attendance.
4. Find a certified medical professional to advise us.
5. Affiliate.
I can do this. I just need to figure out how. It would be so much easier if I already knew some local people interested in joining the venture, alas, I do not.

This revolution of mine, what would it be?
A revolution of self, most likely.
In a world of globalization, it seems like more people than ever before feel alone. I know I cannot stop it alone, but maybe I can help to plant some seeds.
I’ll be thinking about this, trying to figure out what my part is in it.

Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance.
After researching the mental health nonprofits, I found the DBSA to be one of the most effective out there. I decided to blog for them for Blogathon 2007, and was able to raise almost $200 for the cause. Good times.
Doing blogathon made me realize how alone a lot of people feel when dealing with depression and bipolar disorder, and I would really like to see that people in my own town, at least, were given the opportunity to feel like someone understands.
I took the first step on this today by requesting the information on how to start a local support group. I hope I can do something to help.
