I got a phone call yesterday afternoon, which turned out to be a surprise phone interview (dear hiring managers everywhere, please be kind to your applicants and SCHEDULE the phone interviews so they don’t have to talk out their butts while having nervous breakdowns, thanks awfully). Must have said something right, though, because they called me back today and asked me to come interview in person on Monday! In Manhattan! Good thing I have friends in Brooklyn with a couch I can crash on…

Okay, well, my LSAT scores from the February administration just came in by email yesterday. And… I’m not sure whether to be happy or disappointed. I didn’t quite make my goal, but I did better than my embarrassment threshhold score. My score’s solid, good enough for a top-tier school, not quite good enough for a top-four school, especially given that my GPA is competitive but not outstanding. I’ve got a master’s degree already, which can’t hurt, and I’m pretty confident that I can write a good essay, but Yale probably isn’t in my future and a couple of schools I’d like to attend will be a little bit of a stretch.
Still, this score would make a lot of people happy, and it’s good enough that it probably wouldn’t make sense for me to try to take it again. Not bad, considering I did very little prep – I mostly used the Official LSAT Superprep published by the LSAC, did some extra work on logic problems, and took a couple of practice tests. I studied loosely for two months, seriously for about a week and half.
So anyway, now to figure out where I’d like to apply, I guess. I’ve missed this year’s cycle, so I’ll be sending out applications this fall for next fall. Suggestions welcome. ;)
Two resumes off yesterday. Two resumes off today. Nothing else juicy on a scan of the relevant websites. Now… the wait.
