I finally got my license last year on September 11th. Bad day for everyone else. Great day for me! I had a woman tester, so that made me relax a bit, and I did great! I’m still so excited when i think about it. But now I’m going to have to go through a lot of the same steps next month, because I’m going for my motorcycle license! Gas is so expensive these days, and motorcycles and scooters are better for the environment anyway. And cheaper than cars, for the most part. But yeah. I did it! Yay!

So, while this is mostly claiming more than my share of the effort, my mother and I have started a vegetable garden for the first time this year in our backyard. Mostly, she’s done it all, I just helped rototill and prepare the soil, and originally plant the small plants we bought. I know we aren’t growing the plants from seeds, and they aren’t organic plants (even though we’ve been caring for them organically), and my mom’s been the one watering and weeding them, but I still feel a bit closer to achieving this goal. Perhaps next year I’ll be more directly involved, and we can vamp up our gardening skills with our one year of experience behind us ;) Overall, it’s a step in the right direction, and I’m glad I’m still working towards knowing how to live off the land without hurting the land.
I started cleaning… I have a path through my room now! My bed is made! But… I just have SOOO much stuff because I have my dormroom stuff and my home bedroom stuff all in my home bedroom right now… and it’s impossible to organize it all. Only two more weeks and I’ll be moving back to campus, so maybe after I take a bunch of stuff out I can reorganize.
