I recently learned how to do this, as well as knitting with the Magic Loop method – I don’t think I ever want to buy straight needles again.
So, I’m a mom. I have 2 babies. Often, babies barf. One ‘wonderful’ week both of my babies were sick with the flu. Both of them wanted me to hold them. So here I am, running around with a toddler on one shoulder and a newborn on the other. My hair is long and lovely.
BLERF
Now my hair is long and vomit-filled.
Imagine this happening 3 times in 2 days, and at least once a day for over a week.
One day, I magically managed to get both little ones asleep at the same time.
I took a shower, and grabbed my scissors from my Wahl clipper kit – they were not strong enough to hack through my very thick pony tail, so I ran to get my heavy-duty super sharp sewing shears.
Snick, snick, snick… Maybe 20 tenative cuts later, I’m holding a ponytail in my hand. It felt odd, but liberating. I spent the next 20 minutes evening out the hack job.
Nobody noticed that I’d done it myself _
