I’ve been doing this for almost 12 years now. At first, the urge is to plan big fancy meals every night. Fight the urge. I’m careful to only plan one or two meals a week that will produce leftovers (we use them for lunches). The rest of the nights are small meals where I only cook as much as we need. It’s just such a relief to come home from work already knowing 1) what we’ll have, 2)that I have the ingredients to make it and 3) the recipe is ready to go. No last minute trips to the grocer!

How I did it: I signed up for a mini zine swap on swap-bot.com. Mine was called Mortal Remains, and spent 8 mini pages dealing with my fascination about how we dispose of our bodies. It was well-received by those I swapped with. Best of all, I really enjoyed the experience, and am planning another! Read how I did it…
How I did it: I still haven't tried an more expensive cut, but i'm confident it would turn out if I did. Maybe for my birthday! Conversion from vegetarian to omnivore onging! Read how I did it…
How I did it: I actually only went up in a tethered line balloon at a balloon rally - which was cool. (Or rather hot - I'd never considered how hot I'd get when the burner fired!) Thinking about how my gut lurched with that experience has made me rethink ever going up for a ride in an untethered ballon. There's something terrifying about getting more than 40 feet off of the ground in an open basket! No thanks. Read how I did it…

I’ve decided on what I want – just a short motto “Ancora imparo.” Meaning “I am still learning”. Somewhat more appropriate for 70 year old me than something related to my current interests. Now I just need to decide where I’d like to place it. I’m leaning toward someplace on my arm – still thinking about size, font, orientation and exact placement. And wondering if, in the end, I’ll chicken out.
Thanks to sites like swap-bot.com, I’ve been sending a lot more mail art. Right now I’m fascinated by myrioramas… myrioramii? whatever. So, this is an ongoing thing, but I’m going to retire the goal to make room for others!
