I went to a craft shop in Sheffield yesterday and bought beads, needles and thread, and last night I sat down and made my mala. It has 54 beads, and the tube-shaped ones are intended to be spacers.
I found the instructions on www.thepeacebeads.com and they were very useful.
And I’m finding it quite fun. I’m looking forward to the time when I can speak it as well as a I do English. Knowing German is helping me a lot, too.

I moved to uni at the weekend. I live in a hall of residence, so I’m going to class it as living in a community, which it is. It’s a lot better than I expected it to be, actually, but it’s all good.
