27 stops on the tube. half pint at each. That’s 8.1 liters of beer!
Yep, complete. What a mammoth effort. 13 hours it took us. There were some stops that we couldn’t find pubs at, and we made up for it by drinking a full pint at the next one.
And, the hangover wasn’t too bad. Nowhere near as bad as I expected.

I’m certainly not going to achieve this today. Waitangi Day pub crawl in London. Around the circle line. 27 stops, a half pint or shot in each. I predict carnage.

...of practice and I can officially juggle clubs. 17 throws and catches, I call that juggling. It’s not necessarily smooth, or elegant, and I have to walk about a bit following the clubs (I blame the wind!), but I can do it.
And I only got hit in the face 4 times (one time made my lip bleed tho) and my thumb is really sore (I mashed it between 2 clubs).
So, lots more practice required, but this is done!

has turned up at my desk at work. Woohoo! I might have a bit of a play with it tonight when I get home, and see how I go.

...The Rosetta Stone Levels 1 and 2 German. AND, my company will let me expense it, because it’s a business need for me to speak German. Woohoo!
AND, I found a discount code on the web for it, so for 10% off the purchase price, and decided then to add one of their fancy headsets, as the total cost is still under the retail price of the sets alone.
I’m opting for a self-taught course like this over a class because I just don’t know when I’ll be able to commit to a weekly class – I travel a bit. So, hope it arrives soon!

Today they are sending me to Germany (again), and then I’ve got a connecting flight on Thursday into Hungary. I might stay the Friday night and check out a bit of Budapest on the Saturday. Should be cool. I’m so pleased they’re funding my European jaunts.

Some clubs

And a book called Club Juggling Step By Step. I hope they arrive soon. I got them from Jesters.com.

I’ve got the discography here at the moment. It’s BRILLIANT music. First album released in 1992 (so, it’s a case of new for me, not new absolutely). I like the acoustic, raw, emotional feel to the music, and vocals. It’s quite downbeat/depressing-type music, but I really do like it. I’m astounded I haven’t heard of these guys before – I think they should be popular – maybe they are/were – am I out of the loop on this one?
In terms of new absolutely, I’ve also got hold of The Magic Numbers new CD – Those The Brokes. I’m going to see them this weekend in London at the Hammersmith Apollo (I think, my mates have got me tix), and that will be cool. 2nd time I would have seen them (first was 13,000 miles away from here in NZ).

is the number that I’ve recorded against allconsuming.
I’ve listened to more, as there’s stuff I own that isn’t on Amazon or allconsuming, lots of NZ music, LPs, relatively rare, minor label stuff. But, I’m considering the allconsuming figure the official counter. Only 160 left. I reckon I should knock that off in 8 months or so. Fingers crossed.

...to my subscribers – it must be frustrating seeing lots and lots and lots of albums constantly appearing on your lists.
BUT, on the plus side you get to see the great stream of music I’m consuming :-) Lots and lots and lots.

...has made it a goal of mine to learn German. It’s good, cause they’ll fund courses and stuff, and I get to spend time at work learning. Pay increases are also dependent on it, so I’m extra motivated to learn! Super happy about that.

...with an ex-colleague from Australia and I only had 2.5 pints. I think that’s a record for me.

...and not one of them has been a white christmas. I grew up in New Zealand and it’s summertime there at Xmas. Most Xmas’s I’ve been swimming, and outside in a t-shirt. This year will be my first white (or at least cold – come on Reading, you know you want to snow!) Xmas and I’m looking forward to it.

...to work. I think my co-workers found it a bit odd. I’d come in with my 47” board (Sharkboard from Kiwi In Motion) with dress trousers and a dress shirt on. It certainly wasn’t a common way of commuting in Auckland.
I don’t get the opportunity to do this anymore :-( Well, now that I live on the other side of the world from my deck, and I ride the train to work it’s a little tricky. I enjoy it waaaaaay more than riding a short board, carving the pavement, big sweeping turns, cruising along. Ah, those were the days.

...this weekend. Another one down soon :-)
I also went to Malta with work, which was pretty cool. So, I’m currently at 13%

...a different approach to the project that I needed to learn this for. I’ve decided I don’t really enjoy GUI development. I find it frustrating and a little boring to tell you the true. Plus I believe the day of the thick-client is over.
Roll on web based apps I say. Simplification is where it’s at.
That’s why I give up.

hehehe. So, since I’ve joined head office here in the UK I’ve had 3 trips away.
2x Dusseldorf (becoming old hat)
1x Malta – that was a good trip. Got to meet some new people, discuss some good technology, and got to go to a new place. With the addition of this (and my recent trip to Sweden as well) I’ve now seen 13% of Europe. Got to get that up tho!

I was out in Reading on Wednesday last week to see a work colleagues band play at the Three B’s. Oh, my colleagues band is called The Pines – they’re pretty good I reckon.
Anyway, I also heard MJ Hibbett & The Validators – I reckon they are very good. I scored a copy of the CD “We Validate!”
Catchy music, lo-fi feel about it, fun lyrics. Can you want any more?
