My Cat Died...in a way from being declawed...

We adopted a cat that had been previously declawed. We DID NOT declaw her, the previous owner did. She lived with us for 6 years. One day she managed to escape through a door that was not shut all of the way. My cat was killed by two neighborhood dogs that tore her to bits, due to her not having claws to defend herself or claws to climb a tree with, to escape.
I am against declawing. My two cats now have their claws and are indoor kitties too. I still miss my cat, that died. Her name was Sylvia. :-)
