3 weeks ago I quit smoking and started a running program. Going pretty good so far and now I can’t wait to get out and go for my runs, even though they are short for now. Once you start, you can’t really stop!

Learned how to do it over the winter, took a break until may, and have been doing it regularly since … got my times down pretty nicely for only using the most basic of algorithms I think
I really want to get a Vespa, I can get a new one from a dealership for a really decent monthly payment, but for the price of the down payment I would have to put on one I could get a knock off free and clear. Most of the knock off’s I have seen are from over in asia and get 100+ mpg which is more than the Vespa’s get. They all seem to go about the same speed too.
Can anyone give me reasons to not get the knock off?
I wrote this plugin about a month ago, displays your coComments on your wordpress website. Details at http://irgeek.net/projects/show-cocomments/
Now that I am back in Phoenix, I have access to Counter Culture Cafe again! And I do this at least once a week, sometimes twice! I totally recomend doing this at is a blast to do, and if you don’t know where to do it, come on down to Counter Culture Cafe, 2330 E McDowell Rd, Phoenix, AZ … We are open all night every night and there is almost always someone there to talk to! Don’t be shy!
So last week I got a job offer from a company in Phoenix, AZ .. this week I accepted the job offer and put in my 2 weeks and I will be moving to Phoenix before the end of the month! I’ve got a friend I am going to stay with and we will be looking for a bigger place once I get there. I only hope everything works out OK!
This place is much nicer than the last place we went to look at, but for $400 more a month you would hope so :-P While it is much more expensive, it is still not out of our price range, and the place is big enough we could get a third room mate to split the costs three ways instead of two. It is a 2 Bedroom 2 story plus basement townhouse. A total of 1425 square feet for $795 a month. The best part is they have no problems with Brynn’s dog Harvey. Every other place we went considered a German Shepherd an aggressive breed. This place did not and they had no size limit. We already put in an application and are just waiting to here back! crosses fingers
Nothing here is 24 hours! I have found a few coffee houses though that allow smoking and have wi-fi … they are usually only open until 11 or 12 though. But you take what you can get right :-)
My idea for this particular goal is a bit different than the norm I would think. I want to save up enough money to be able to survive on the road for 6 months, sleeping in my car if I have to or at a friends house along the way. I want to just drop everything, sell off the stuff I don’t need, and go find a new place to live. I like the freedom of this idea, I can go anywhere I want. If I don’t like a place, move on to the next place. I’m hoping to be able to do this sometime next year. The way I figure, I will need about $1200 for food and beverages and the like, probably $2000 for gas just to be safe, a passport(canada here I come!), my laptop, a camera, and some clothes and enough money to pay some monthly expenses like cell phone. I’m toying with the idea of getting a cellular internet connection for my laptop too so I don’t have to find an access point everywhere I go. In total I think i’m looking at about $6000 plus a reliable car! Anyone else in?? :-P
I wan’t to go to college and take conversational latin as my foreign language all four years. I want to be fluent enough in latin to sit down with a friend who is also fluent in latin and have a conversation in a public area and see what kinds of reactions we get =) Plus responding to peoples questions in latin sounds so beautiful!
I just need a car to get to and fro! Any reliable car is fine! rusted out, no stereo, ripped interior … I DONT CARE! I just need an old reliable beater to give me some freedom!
So last october I moved away from Boston to Phoenix right, I went down to my bank and closed my account because they did not have sovereign banks there. Theey said my account was closed, gave me the remaining balance, and wished me luck with the warmer climate. I move 4 days later. End up moving to detroit a week after I get to Phoenix(I like to bounce :P) and proceeded to try and find a job, I was flat broke and had no job for 3 months. I finally got a job beginning of February, went down to the bank with my first paycheck to try and open a bank account. Apparently I have an outstanding debt of $300 with sovereign bank!!!!! I called them to see WTF that was about and according to them there was a -$42 balance left on my CLOSED account they THEY closed for me and there was a $5 a day charge until it was paid off. It wen’t to collections before I even KNEW about it. They were sending me letters completely oblivious to the fact that I MOVED!!! I cant decide if it’s worth it to try and fight this, or to just pay them thier damned money. Banks are such a hassle.
Me and my friend Brynn went to look at an appartment today. It is a 2 bedroom 1200 square foot appartment above on art gallery in the WSU district of Detroit. It is $500 a month and an awesome place. We jumped on the opportunity but unfortunatetly so did a few other people. We had to fill out an application but should hear something back this week about it crosses fingers
I really like k2 and the ease in which you can completely customize it to look like something entirely different. I have plans to do a redesign of my website which runs k2, I just haven’t gotten the motivation to do so yet. I make small changes here and there, and that’s about it.
Back when I lived in Phoenix we had this coffee house called Counter Culture Cafe that was open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. It was the best place to go and have random meaningful/meaningless conversations at all hours of the day. Middle of the night during the week was the best time to find cool people. I miss it immensely and only wish I could find a replacement here in detroit.
In my years of PHP development as a hobby, I could never wrap my head around OOP. Last week while at my job I was tasked with writing a piece of software to do the same thing over and over. I decided it would work best as an OOP script so I did some reading and wrote some basic code … once you can get the basic idea of it down, the limit’s are endless and it just seems much more efficient.
My current living situation sucks, and I wish to move out. I want to live in a place where I must live up to no ones expectations but my own. I need to save up some scratch and fast!
I have done work on two of my own plugins, one of them didn’t work out the way I had hoped it would, and I am still brainstorming for a way to get it to work. The second plugin was coming along nicely when it was made fairly obsolete by another plugin. Still trying to think of a decent plugin I could write .. any idea’s? :-)
I gave this up when I was 13 years old, 21 now I have never looked back. I can’t say I have felt any healthier because it has been so long and I have since fell into other fast food eating habits. But McDonalds just does not sit right with me or my stomach. I recomend everyone at least try this out and see how you like it. Eat at subway for 2 weeks instead. You will thank me.
I have been self educating myself for about 3 years now in PHP. Although a bit slowly due to other things in life such as work. But now, I was just hried as an entry level PHP developer and will hopefully be able to increase my skill level quite a bit with this position.
