I had to go up to the mountains on business. It only took a half an hour to wrap things up so I went up to Ute Pass in Colorado. I took the dog for a walk and we ended up at a cliff over looking the valley and The Eagle’s Nest Wilderness Area. I spent most of the day just trying to sort things out. I would like to move to the mountains, but it would mean leaving my family and friends. My best friend and soul mate died a year ago and now I have this big house for just me and the dog. Going to the mountains for me is like going home. My friend and I would go as often as we could. I thought it would be different without her, but it was not. It was like she was there with me. After a day I still have not decided on what to do.

Okay, I did it. It was not a great resort, but it was nice and I could take the dog. The place is in southern Colorado and is mainly a hot springs. They have a small motel, some cabins and quite a few camp sites. Very rustic, no phones or TV and no restaurant. You cook what you eat in a common kitchen. I took my tent and camped out.
I set up my tent and then took my clothes off, heart pounding away. I walked up to the main pool with just my snadals and a towel. There were a couple of dozen people at the pool. Men, women, old and young. The place is C. O. (clothing optional)but most everyone was naked. After a few minutes, yes just a few minutes, the fear was over. It seemed so natural. I spent most of the three days there naked. The nights were too cool to go without clothes, but the days were warm and nice. I talked to several people at one of the pools and it was just like any other pool. It took me a while to realize that everyone was naked.
That first night I set up my telescope and had quite a few visitors. The next day I went for a walk up to some old mines. It was a nice three days. I had planned on spending only two days, but I was enjoying myself and some of the kids wanted to look through the telescope again, so I spent another night.
The one thing that I regret is not having someone to share it with. My friend passed away a year ago and she would never have considered going there, (I asked) My other friends would think I was crazy and try to have me committed. I would like to go back again, maybe then I will have someone to take with me.
I did this in college. I was an art major and one of the classes was Human Form. Nudity was not required, you could wear Jockey shorts if you wanted to, but I chose to go all the way. The reason was if I was willing to have someone else poise nude for me, I should know what it is like to sit there, too. To be an artist is not just painting or sculpting and object, it is putting emotion into your art. It also helped that I made an extra $10 per sitting. That was good money back then.
My parents had mixed feelings on this. My father thought that I was crazy and he would never do something like that. My mother was more understanding. She had poised for an art class, although not nude, and understood that it had nothing to do with nudity, but with the art.
