During the 80’s and early 90’s I lived skateboarding. Very good times.
Lately, I bought “Dogtown and the Z-boys” and it renewed my interest in this extremely creative sport. I dug out the old skate videos and have found some mp3 of the music we used to listen to.
I must admit I am desperate to have another shot – the feeling of just pulling reverts going down a hill, spinning a clean 360 shove-it, or even popping a little backside ollie onto a kerb would be great.
The only problem is I’m in my mid-thirties and have put on a good few pounds since my teens. Still, I can hear that old Gonz Macaroni board in the garage calling my name… :) :) :-)
Rails is the killer app for Ruby. I reckon it represents the kind of productivity+quality leap that defined the previous mainstream move from C++ to Java about 7 years ago. And its fun!
