Three down, five to go! I’m on my way!

A WHIP stands for the five pillars of self-discipline:
1. Acceptance
2. Will Power

After a year, it gets really easy and I can just auto-pilot my way through a shift. I work as a server at a by-the-beach restaurant so the customers are typically happy to be there.

I need to overcome one road block after a year of working there. That is the cynicism that eventually comes from serving rude folks. That has now become one of my new goals.

Well, I got into UC Santa Cruz and I’m going there! No need to move out of town.

He’s a much better candidate. I just can’t have Hillary there only because she’s a Clinton. It’s not by blood, it’s by a bad marriage.

Since last April I have lost 20 pounds and kept it off for about a year. I’m still losing weight, more slowly, but I just picked up “cross-country” cycling, like 15 miles a day. It’s working!

I owe most of it to Weight Watchers.

Yeah, Spanish is over. It has been a while since I’ve been on 43things, I need to keep up with this!

Which school is better? One that boasts a marching activist past and is known for it’s political undertones, or one where activist students burned down a bank and were protesting offshore drilling in the 60’s?

Would a school like Berkeley where one Political Science major is offered with the name “Political Science Undergrad” be better than a school where I have four majors to pick from with one including an internship in Washington DC?

Would it be best to stay close to friends and family in the Bay area where the temperature varies from 40 degrees and 100 degrees or should I consider a place where it’s usually 75 degrees any time of the year?

I assure you, there is more to it than this, but I’ve made my decision. I would prefer to apply to both and see who takes me. (UCSB please please please!)

Yeah, they were kind of cheap, for someone with a record like mine (which I wont mention). But the Gecko company is pretty cheap for liability. Check it out.

I finally finally finally got it back… it took so much waiting in lines at the DMV and finding out I didn’t have what I needed or that I had forgotten some paper or proof of something.

I did this by finding a car for sale four blocks from my house. It was a coincidence that it was so close because I just found it on Craigslist.org. I bought it from an older guy who was really nice and smogged it for me. It was only $700 for a little car with turbo that is supposed to top out at 150 (but MINE sure doesn’t).

So I had to have a car before I could get insurance because you can’t just insure any car. I had to have insurance on a car before I could get my license back! So I got it, I had an SR22 sent to the DMV and I was told it would take about one day to get the SR22 to the DMV. The guy at my insurance company said I could “go to the DMV in the morning”. So I went, waited in line for an hour and found out they didn’t have the SR22 yet. The bastards at my insurance company forgot to rush it. I had to go back the next day and it finally all went through. I was a legal driver in my own smogged, registered, 5 speed, good running, red, insured car! And I’m off!

I love percussion, I don’t know why I wasn’t just happy with that. I don’t really have time to learn piano.

I can’t do this now, and I may never be able to. Farewell beautiful language!

This is my most important goal, but I have lost the meaning of it. What does it really mean to live in the moment. It used to just come to me and I understood it sort of without thinking. It was just part of me, and now it’s gone. Or maybe I’m not paying attention.

Does anyone have any advice on how to get back my framework of understanding how to live in the moment?

My foosball table became a big use of space that was needed for other things. I ended up giving away my Harvard table to a guy who also wanted to rebuild a table. Good luck to him. I recently moved into a small apartment and a foosball table is out of the question.

I worked at a restaraunt called “Pizza Antica” in the infamous Santana Row of San Jose. Only infamous to those who dislike highly overpriced anything for people who want to be in style and feel like they are in europe when really they are in the armpit of the bay area.

So I decided that I dislike restaraunts very very much because most managers are the same, they drive people. I don’t like having a mental whip at my back all the time, and I don’t like pretentious attitudes asking me to get them a special bottle of wine. Wine service is hell.

So screw restaraunts, I’m thinking of starting a catering service.

I don’t see the point anymore, I wouldn’t use it as often as I think.

Best setup I could ask for, and it only cost me $75!

I went to the DMV to get my license back and I ended up with this guy who looked up my record and said, “looks like I have to call the court”. He managed to contact them and came back to tell me that I needed an Ignition Interlock Device (IID) to blow into when I wanted to start the car so it knew I was sober. I said that’s not true and I would bring back papers to prove it. He said “well the judge was telling you Hey!, you obviously aren’t paying attention so we want you to have this IID so you don’t drive drunk anymore.” This obviously made me angry but I kept it cool knowing he was wrong.

It took many phone calls to the court but eventually they called me back and said I was clear to get my license back, now all I need is a car and an SR-22 to get my license. They don’t want me driving any car but my own and if I drop SR-22 coverage before March next year, I will lose my license until then…

I no longer have any outstanding warrants, I’ve paid all my tickets and I’m legally clear. In March of next year I will no longer need an SR-22, but that’s not expensive at Geico. So, if you need an SR-22 definatley go to them.

I did my Zona Seca equivelent courses, now I can get my license back when I get a car and insurance. Well… that will be in about two months, so my next goal is to save $4,000.
