The First Step was being willing to do what ever it took to get well.
I began reading and looking into ideas for a healthy diet.
I eliminated those things that were a trigger food for me.
I began to weight and measure certain items.
I committed myself to walking each day. Even when I didn’t feel like it.
I rewarded myself with new clothes when I reached a goal.
I set up challenges for my walking with my friends and others.
I reminded myself daily how much better I felt.
I looked at my family and was thankful that I would now be around for them.
I drank a lot of water, took vitamins and worked with my doctor around any medical issues.
I ate smaller meals, lots of fruit, good protein, and diary.
I accepted that there were some foods I just had to say no to -forever!

In March 2009 I had to accept the fact that my weight had reached it highest level ever – 375 pounds.
I couldn’t deny it. I couldn’t hide it.
When the doctor looked at me an said,” Do you want to die?” I was struck by the insanity of the situation that I had placed myself in. I couldn’t blame anybody but myself.
I knew that I had to change and I had to change now. So I started a new food plan, began to walk daily, worked on reducing my stress level and am trying to live a more balanced and centered life. So far I have been able to drop 105 pounds.
