I’m not sure what my specific writing goal for this year is—to write a novel, to write stories, to get published, etc. I don’t feel that making a goal like that will be beneficial at this time. I do know that focusing too much on the outcome of writing can sometimes cause writer’s block and for right now, the most important thing is that I continue to write. Since I began writing again about two months ago, I can feel my life tranforming. I’ve begun discovering new things about myself again, this same old me that I thought I knew so well. And, I’ve started to see the magic and romance in life again. And, I can express myself more articulately and am learning the thrill of sharing my emotions, something that I have always had a hard time with.

What is your biggest phobia? I’m talking about things like fear of heights or snakes or enclosed spaces, etc. It can be a slightly more rational phobia (like snakes) or a phobia most people would find irrational (like fear of cottonballs).
Also, any idea where this fear came from? Tell us the story.
My biggest fear is burning. I think it comes from when I was little and someone accidentally spilled a just-brewed pot of coffee down my back at a family party I was at. (I was running right behind her and she turned around and splat! Totally wasn’t her fault, poor woman! She felt so bad, as you can imagine.) Anyway, I was always afraid of fire, explosions, burning, etc. after that. I didn’t even like to drink hot things like cocoa or soup for years.
Are there places from your childhood that you’re always returning to in your dreams? For instance, I notice that often my dreams take place at the house I grew up in, one of the 2 houses my childhood best friend lived in, and my elementary school. Even if the subject matter in the dream has nothing to do with childhood, these places are often the backdrops for my dreams. What about you?
I wrote more about this on my blog (www.starlightbright.wordpress.com).
