This has been an intensely personal and very powerful journey for both me and my friend. But, I believe we could both say this goal has been met.

How I did it: I now sponsor three children through World Vision, and have committed to run Chicago 2009 as part of Team World Vision. I will be putting up a fund-raising page, and will focus on raising thousands of dollars to help feed and care for children around the world who do not have access to clean water, food and medical care.Sponsorship is a life-time commitment, and I do not undertake this responsibility lightly. Read how I did it…
I’m three weeks into this goal.. and noticed that yesterday I can actually see AND feel a bicep! This is huge progress from my stick arms.
Since I wrote this goal, I’ve sponsored another child in Haiti through World Vision. This is in addition to the one I already have sponsored for about a year. I view it as an ongoing commitment, and feel good that I’m being a steward of the blessings that I have. I also sent the family a goat and two chickens. However, I think I’ve only scratched the surface, and search for many more opportunities to give to the world’s poor. I want this to be a huge part of my life.
