I made it through one whole semester of college level French and although I can barely speak it, I now can understand a lot more when I hear French. It was very apparent to me this semester how much work it takes to actually comprehend and speak a language but I’m hoping to use my Rosetta Stone software in conjunction with my classes to become fluent over the next couple years.

How I did it: I was lucky and had a friend who suggested a lot of bands to get me going on my goal. Once I found a few bands that I really enjoyed it was easier to research other types of music that I might be interested in. Also the website pandora.com helped a ton and I still use it to find new bands. Read how I did it…
So I’ve been able to not bite my nails for a whole week. This is a huge accomplishment for me considering I haven’t gone a day without biting them for about the past ten years before this. For the first time in my life I actually have a nail that extends past my fingertip :). I think what helped the most was putting a post it note up on my desk reminding me to not bite my nails. Hopefully I can keep this going.
I’ve never ran a marathon so this should definitely be an experience. The most I’ve ever ran in the past is 10 miles, so the 26.2 seems a little daunting. I’ve started my training schedule and seem to be doing pretty well so far. I’ve armed myself with a good pair of running shoes, a beautiful running trail, upbeat and positive songs, and tons and tons of inspirational quotes to keep me going when things get tough.
