I hadn’t played a game for many years, until a few days ago when I played a friend of roommate. I beat her pretty squarely, but made several moves during the course of the game that I wished I could take back. I think I’ll pick the game up again… it really is so enjoyable.

I’m quitting smoking tonight. It’s going to be really hard, I’ve tried before several times. Drinking makes it much worse. It’s going to be really difficult to give up this vice as well, I do so enjoy my Manhattans. But, while I’m on this health kick, it certainly will be a good thing for me to cut out the alcohol as well. If I can get to the point where I can go out, have 1 or 2 drinks, and not smoke, and not drink just for the sake of drinking , then I am convinced my life will improve. Wish me luck folks, it’s gonna be a tough road ahead.

Ok. Here goes. I’m doing my best to have as few smokes as possible before midnight, and when it comes…. this had better be the last time. Please, let it be.
