I bought a keyboard with a Christmas gift card a couple years ago, but when I moved I misplaced the power adapter. I’ve found one that works (but I need to go buy a better one) and I’ve been sort of practicing some songs. Since i have no real background, I’ve started with chopsticks. I’ve got the right hand down and part of the left hand down. I’m having a hard time thinking of how I’d be able to do both hands at the same time. I suppose i need to get real good with each hand, and then start trying to put both together.
I’ve been playing around with a couple other songs too. If I know the song, I find it easier to learn how to play it. I’m sticking with slow songs for now too.
It’s a lot of fun sitting there and just enjoying the music. I’ve found it really helps to clear my mind because I have to be thinking about the music.

I added this goal because the only time I had tried to bake a cake, it didn’t come out well – it was pretty dry and hard. I don’t remember what mix I used – I used a pyrex 13×9 pan to bake it though. This time I used two 8” metal round pans. One of the cakes came out slightly dry around the edge, but it’s not a problem. I turned it into a layer cake (I love big slices with icing in the middle). The bottom piece slit in the middle when I flipped it out of the pan. I iced that side and put the other piece on top, and put icing on it. As I spread the icing the top kind of split apart. I could have used another container of icing, and this may have helped with the splitting. I probably should have removed them from the pan and let them sit upside down for a while too. Any tips?

It’s the easy way. I have met and have autographs from a bunch of actors/actresses who have done sci-fi shows or movies.
But I’ve met Ben Folds after a concert and nearly ran Tegan and Sara over with my car (they were jaywalking!). I ran into a couple people in LA/Hollywood, and met a few baseball players either before a game or at events.
