If anyone out there has any idea what I’m talking about, I’d really appreciate a comment. :)
My mother had a book that I would like to find, called “The Mirror.” The author was a woman, but I don’t remember her name.
The book is about a woman named Shay and her great-grandmother, Rachel. Rachel inherited by marriage this grotesque antique mirror, that, long story short, switches the two woman so that Shay lives part of her great-grandmother’s life in the late 1800s and young Rachel is transported into the body of Shay in the 1970s.
It sounds silly and weird – well, it was – but it was also pretty neat. My mother’s not around anymore, and I can’t find this book anywhere. I’d love to find it.

Been working on this thing for three months now – ridiculous, but for the fact that I had to stop for a long time to recover from surgery. It’s a tall, narrow shelf that my father built nearly thirty years ago – warped and damaged by now. I took it apart, stripped the finish, smoothed out the pieces as much as I could without a planer, put it back together, re-adjusted all the joints and fixed one shelf piece…all I have to do now is sand it down and get it ready to stain, stain it, and voila!

I finally got out my one hook and ugly ass practice yarn last night and got going. With the help of the instructions online at lionbrand.com, I’m sitting here crocheting at my desk at work. woohoo!
I’m working on learning more than two stitches (all I’ve learned this morning), and, of course, on making nice, even stitches that look nice and feel good. I think on payday I might get a larger hook, and this beautiful purple acrylic fuzzy yarn that I saw the other day, and make a big purple throw blankie to snuggle into. :D
