I want to make a video game. It will be about a tropical island and the survivors of a shipwreck. Des Naufrages will have to survive and either escape or facilitate their own rescue.
I – The Shipwreck
A large luxury yacht is capsized by a tidal wave. Player1 and any random number of individual passengers are washed or swim ashore a tropical deserted island. The island will be large, too large to explore without the risk of starvation. Every species of tropical plant will be be found here. The weather will alternate between loud, dangerous thunderstorms and mild tropical weather. There will be interactive props; vines, fallen trees, sticks, twigs, and stones. Characters will be able to construct shelters, weapons and raqfts. Rafts will be unable to traverse the ocean and will be capsized, any surviving raft naufragews will swim back to the island or be eaten by sharks.
II- Survival Primary
In order to become the leader of the groupp1 must collect food for all the survivants. Progress will be aided by a command feature thatallows p1 to order others to climb trees, pick, store and carry various foods. Progress will be impeded by large poisonous snakes, invincible wild boars, quicksand traps, fatigue, heat exhaustion, high terrain falls and thick, impenetrable foliage. A bonus impediment will be the presence an d posssible collectgion of severeal species of poisonous fruits and berries.
III – Survival Secondary
Player1 will learn how to construct a shelter. Skills p1 will need to acquire will include digging, log lashing, ladder building, wall interlacing, thatching, and fire-making. Until p1 learns fire-making p1 will be unable to cook and consume wild boar, wild gamebird, and fish. Player1 will also need to learn how to make vine webbing, spears and slingshots and how to set traps. When p1 has learnt the skill and successfully performed the task 3-4x p1 may teach the others. Progress will be aided by the command feature upgrade to 3 assistants. Progress will be impeded by p1’s lack of adroitness, the quickness of prey, the ferocity of prey and natural/unnatural distractions (widows will not help you as easily as single travelers, an airplane sighting will cause everyone to run to the beach and jump and wave and scream, hungry people will not help you). Success will require the construction of a large shelter – to house every survivant and a large fire.
IV – Tribe
Upon construction of a raft or bridge p1 will have access to the other half of the island. It will be across a river (vliffs, sharp jagged rocks, feral bats). And guess what there are people. Naked people with sun golden skin. And spears. And bad attitudes. They will either capture you or kill you depending on their mood at first. Afterwards they will attack you or help you. These natives possess all the skills you need plus: they run faster than the wild boar, they leap half as high as the tallest tree, they can scale virtually any tree int he jungle, they can rip apart wild game with their bare hands, hurl boulders 3/4 of a mile and start a fire with two sticks in 15 seconds. If they initially kill you the game ends and p1 will respawn being tossed from the yacht into the ocean. If they capture you you will be faced with new tasks. Escape/avoid the naked natives using stealth. Optionally p1 may choose to engage the uncivilised savages and lose in graphic, bloody, gory detail or attempt to become part of the native culture and integrate p1’s group with them. If p1 integrates p1 learns: how to swim farther and faster, which foods will make you sick or kill you, how to make a 15 second fire, how to worship indigenous deities and the requisites for man/woman -hood in the naked savages tribu. If by some very fortunate chance p1 will have to contend with the possibility of ebing intercepted in p1’s daily hunting/gathering by burning spears or large well-aimed flying boulders. I intend the savages to win each contentious encounter.
