i need a routine. or a miracle schedule, as jim gold says.
that is what i need.

aha! good habits to replace the bad.

kind of like thoughts. it’s very difficult to just stop bad thoughts. what you need to do is REPLACE them with good thoughts.

scales and arpeggios 3 weeks ago

i have decided to cultivate a love affair with scales. scales, arpeggios, and other exercises.

now i just need to get my butt to the instrument.
and make a daily habit of it!



Reduce; Simplify (read all 5 entries…)
simple life is so far away 3 weeks ago

why is it so so hard to simplify life? i am almost done with my grad program (finally! it’s been more than 3 years), and i’ll be well on my way to a career. i’m beginning to hate that word. i feel more limited than ever, but i still want to explore and am not really sure it’s the right choice. i’ve spent so much time and money on grad school and sacrificed so much. and now, that i’m almost done, i’m having doubts.

i have a wonderful on-going opportunity of being in a band that is fantastic and going places, if slowly. but i’ve hardly been a member since june of this year, and so so much has happened that i have missed. and my availability looks to be extremely limited for a very long time.

i have no idea what i will do starting in january. either get a job where i can also use it as a paid practicum, or do another externship for no money and still have to live at home.

there are pros and cons for each of these. oy.
