my mom, sister and i are moving out of the mess formerly referred to as home, and into a little place of our own within the next couple of months. Cliche as it may sound, dysfunctional does not describe the relationship we all have with each other well enough, so we’re leaving my drug-hooked brother and gambling dad to fend for themselves. Sounds terrible, right? It’s not. We’ve mused on this plan before, but this time we’re following through. When Megan and I were going to move out back in March, we had bought absolutely everything we would have needed, down to a fondue pot and bathroom towels. : )
We’re all set to go, really, and my mom has an aunt who is looking to sell her rental property. Rumour is it’s in disrepair, but how much fun would it be to fix up a dilapidated old place and turn it into something beautiful? I can’t wait for this new beginning. : ) : )
