How I did it: Even though our two cats are elderly we took the risk. We did a lot of research on breeds and decided against a terrier because they are big chasers; we have got a cockadoodle! He is 5 eighths poodle, one quarter cocker spaniel and one eighth labrador. He is a dead funny looking dog considering he cost 850 pounds sterling! But he seems very bright. How I did it: Using proper tools helps. Proddy rugs don't require a frame - you just sit with it on your lap - so it's a bit easier to take about to Norfolk for example. I have written about it in detail in my rag rug blog Read how I did it…
How I did it: Got a bin bag, turned out all my cupboards and drawers and with my daughter's help I chucked out everything that was really too middle-aged or old for comfort as well as anything that wasn't genuinely flattering. Also threw out all items that were no longer my size and unlikely ever to be again, all old underwear and purchased lots of lovely new matching underwear. Read how I did it…

And we did not wait until the cats were gone. Even so they are coping OK with the intrusion. He is 9 weeks old now and as bright as a button.
