I’ll be able to cross this one off my list on June 6, 2009. My boyfriend proposed to me and we are getting married!
Not only did I accomplish this goal but I left the boyfriend who I was extremely unhappy with. I now have a full time job & support myself. I live alone in a house I rent and pay my bills all by myself. I was terrified to do this all on my own but I am doing it, and it is sooooo worth it.
I need to get a job so that I could care for myself if needed. My boyfriend has been “bringing home the bacon” for years and while I like that I can sleep in every day, :) I hate feeling like I am not contributing. I hate feeling like if he left me tomorrow I would be screwed & have no where to go, nothing to call my own. It’s time to find a job and start contributing towards my future.
Adopting a homeless animal from a shelter or rescue group is one of the most rewarding experiences. It feels good to save a life and make a difference to that animal!
Until there are none, adopt one!
I love my dogs and can’t imagine my life without them!
Getting a dog is definitely worth doing if you are committed to being a responsible pet guardian. It is a big commitment taking in a pet & shouldn’t be something done on an impulse but if you are prepared it can be the greatest thing ever.
A good place to find adoptable dogs is www.petfinder.com. The greatest dogs I have ever had are rescued dogs/mutts. :)
Don’t buy pet store puppies as they DO come from puppy mills/commercial breeders. A responsible breeder would NOT sell their pups to a pet store…they would want to know that their pups are going to good hoomes.
Learning to drive a stick shift was really hard for me. I finally had no choice but to learn how to drive one when I bought a new 5 speed car. I’ve always been proud of this accomplishment! ;)
I volunteer my time to the local Humane Society. I take pictures of the animals to post on Petfinder.com and walk dogs and socialize the animals. I serve on the board as the Secretary and also foster animals. Humane Societies and rescue groups all over are seeking animal lovers who want to lend a helping hand.
