I haven’t logged on here in an incredibly long time. What was the top goal on my list? “Have a baby,” of course! Well, I’m pleased to announce that my beautiful daughter Cora just turned one last week. I said it had been a long time!

Twenty days walking so lonely and talking to myself and the rocks and sand
Got me to thinking ‘bout going and drinking in a tavern with a clean-shaven man
Just when i thought all souls had been bought by the devil here long ago
There did i see when i knelt to my knee i little texas flower grow
Black-eyed susan by the roadside blooming all yellow like sunshine red like wine
Flower like you in a desert this cruel my my you’re a rare rare find
Well my newfound friend gave my heart a mend i sang her songs of my wayward ways
As day turned to night in the crystal moonlight i confirmed her unwavering gaze
As the days unraveled i stayed in the gravel and susan kept her eye on me
With my eye on her i felt my heart all astir with the joy of camaraderie
Black-eyed susan by the roadside blooming all yellow like sunshine red like wine
Flower like you in a desert this cruel my my you’re a rare rare find
Helping the kids out of their coats
But wait the babies haven’t been born
Unpacking the bags and setting up
And planting lilacs and buttercups
But in the meantime we’ve got it hard
Second floor living without a yard
It may be years until the day
My dreams will match up with my pay
Old dirt road,
(mushaboom, mushaboom)
knee deep snow
(mushaboom, mushaboom)
Watching the fire as we grow
(mushaboom, mushaboom)
old
I got a man to stick it out
And make a home from a rented house
And we’ll collect the moments one by one
I guess that’s how the future’s done
How many acres, how much light
Tucked in the woods and out of sight
Talk to the neighbours and tip my cap
On a little road barely on the map
Old dirt road,
mushaboom, mushaboom)
knee deep snow
mushaboom, mushaboom)
Watching the fire as we grow,
mushaboom, mushaboom)
o-o-o-o-old
(mushaboom, mushaboom)
Old dirt road rambling rose
(mushaboom, mushaboom)
Watching the fire as we grow
(mushaboom, mushaboom)
Well I’m Sold…
