In order to obtain the CBV designation, an individual must:
1. complete six (6) courses:
Four (4) Core Courses:
Introductory Business and Security Valuation
Intermediate Business and Security Valuation
Advanced Business and Security Valuation
Law and Tax
Two (2) electives from the following:
Litigation I (on-line)
Litigation II
Advanced Open Market Transactions
Private Company Finance (on-line)
Restructuring (on-line)
Public Companies (on-line)
Introduction to Valuation for Financial Reporting (on-line)
2. Work experience: have accumulated 1,500 hours of business & securities valuation experience. The experience should be attested by a sponsor. Please see Business Valuation Experience requirement Policy and Sponsorship Policy.
3. Entrance Exam: achieve a passing grade on the Membership Entrance Examination (MEE).
