The ICFP programming contest looked really tempting, but sadly the timing is a little off. Ah well, maybe there’ll be others.

There’s still a lot of things I love about PHP, but if you’re just getting started, check out Ruby and Ruby on Rails. I think you’ll be much happier.

One of the things I love about rock climbing is that it has really solid goals. Much like a video game (one of my other passions).

So if you’re the sort that spends a lot of time in front of video games, consider getting some exercise and try rock climbing. It’s a little tough at first, but I think you’ll find that the satisfaction of reaching the end of a course is not unlike beating a video game. Sometimes I can seriously hear the final fantasy victory music….
