I simply get out my journal every night before bed. It’s about as easy as it sounds. I keep it next to my bed, and to encourage myself to write, I finish every entry with a list of some sort. Sometimes the journal is simply the list. It’s not always interesting, but it keeps me writing.

How I did it: It takes time to open yourself up to strangers, especially if you don't feel that you're like them in key ways. But I've learned most from those that are so different. I’ve quit pointless TV almost entirely, in a cold turkey sort of way, by canceling my cable and getting out of the house every night: i read in bookstores, see more of my friends and family, write letters more often… it’s GREAT.
I’ve started taking a multi-vitamin and a calcium vitamin every morning after I eat my bowl of cereal and yogurt at work. It’s so much easier to remember to take them when they’re sitting on my desk, staring me in the face. And I feel a lot better.
