How I did it: Well, I simply lived it. And i didn't hesistate with opportunities opened up in front of me. That was a big thing. And October really did turn out for the best ever. My mom's birthday, finding a job to shoot for, the 1/2 Ironman. How could it get better? Oh yea, wait, this month is already that great plus more!! I think the secret is staying positive. and planning out a ton of activities ahead of time and then sticking to them --- for the… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I decided about a month ago that I would consolidate all of the poems that I had been working on for the past 2 years into a 50+ page book of poetry for the annual Walt Whitman Poetry contest. I started compiling my work into a book. One poem on each page. None of my poems are longer than a page, I am not a fan of long poetry. Not yet. Maybe sometime later because I never say never. So I began consolidating my poems into a book, editing e… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I trained for over 6 months for this particular race. Since 2006 I have worked on a very strong running base that I have maintained very consistently. I was a swimmer from age 2 and swam competitively for most of my youth so swimming was in the bag. I worked hard on my cycling base for the past 2.5 years...since I first became interested in triathlon. I started with marathons back in 2006 and then I progressed to doing my first triathlon,… Read how I did it…

Thanks goes to BambooSpirit for having this goal and thereby pushing me to remember and realize this as one of my goals.
I never have went on a trip and devoted it solely to writing. Maybe that is what it would take for me to really focus hard. There was a retreat/fellowship that my partner’s mom turned me on to…but it took a lot of effort to apply. At the time, I did not have the energy to go through the process. Lately, though, I’ve been finding energy to do all kinds of new things…especially when it comes to my writing.
I think that every day I’m realizing how important and central my writing is to me. It is time for me to go on a solo trip and devote it solely to contemplation, editing, writing, meditation, and writing.
I need to think on this more. I need to create this trip all for me. An extended weekend would be good. The important thing is I would need to be by myself. That is hard for me, but I have always known that the hardest things are the ones that end up being the most worth it in the end…
I’m on a roll. I’m introducing a new character today that is going to create a lot of drama for my current, existing female character. Read: drama=excitement. And more words. I like more words.
Let’s keep writing like it’s our JOB!!!
