I am a runner and I have a suggestion. Alot of people like to run around a lake or some such place where you do laps and laps. For me this makes it too easy to count the miles as they go by and also too easy to stop when I reach the start/end point instead of to keep going. Take the scenic route and run away from your home. That way when you are half way through, you are still x miles from home and have no choice but to jog those miles home. Also I think it helps to run with another person or an iPod for starters.
