... at two places! Now I have to decide where to go… it is really hard, the more I think about it the less I can decide!

Supervisors, group size, collaborations, department, university… location, distance from loved ones, living arrangements… I have thought long and hard about all of these and it’s still hard to come to a decision.

I should decide in the next week or so, and start around October 2009. Wish me luck!

After talking to people they seem to say that although I did Chemistry as my degree, if I’m willing to learn I can be a junior software developer for my first job…(!) At the moment I know FORTRAN (which no one “out there” seems to use) and some shell scripting. I have taken a course in python, but didn’t make much of it because I don’t have time to. It will be really interesting to be able to move into this field. At the moment I have exams to revise for, but what should I learn/take up after I’m done?

...and I was on max dose of paracetamol for three days afterwards. Ouch. But now the swelling is gone, I think the stitches are dissolving, and grossness warning I finally realised what the funny taste in my mouth which has been around for ages is… it’s the decaying tooth in front of the one that has just been removed. Ewwww. Need another trip to the dentist soon, methinks, before exams.

I will be soooo glad when all of this finally done and dusted.
