learn to sew
Oversize to just right... 3 years ago

I had this one instance where two of my goals were linked. One of my goals is to make myself a Harry Potter costume, hence I wanted to learn how to sew. Anyways, I got too lazy (another one of the things I have to work on) to learn any sewing, so I did a shortcut and bought a Ravenclaw House sweater vest. Unfortunately the only size available is way too big for me. But I really wanted to get it for so long that I bit the bullet and bought it.
So, I have this oversized sweater for about a week, thinking what should I do about this? I’ve even dreamt of cutting out the excess and sewing back the whole thing. It was easy thinking about it, but I kept telling myself that it wouldn’t be easy to actually do. I proved myself wrong when I actually had the guts to tear apart the sweater, meaning undoing the stitches down to its respective sweater pieces. As planned, I’ve cut out the excess, and sewed them back on.
The outcome was amazing. I couldn’t have thought that I could manage. I clearly had it in my mind that I have just wasted my money because there’s no way that what I’m doing will ever work.
In all honesty, it worked! I’ve worn the sweater twice now and it’s still good. I wish I have a “before and after” picture of it.
Anyways, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it. =P
