I succeeded in my 30-day discipline experiment getting up at 7am every day without fail.
Even though the 30 days is over, i think it has become a habit, which was the intention. I got up at 7am again this morning without even thinking about it.
It has been very good for my self esteem, motivation and general happiness.

unfortunately i fell right out of the habit of doing this. i’ve recently been making some changes to get back on track with getting up on time (and getting up as soon as my alarm clock goes).
it’s been 5 days so far. i’m going to stick at it consistently for 30 days and hope that it becomes a habit that sticks this time.

well it has taken most of the year, but i’m happy to say i have been getting up at 7am every day for the last 4 weeks.
the key was to get into the habit of going to bed at the same time every day before i started making myself get up at the same time every day.
getting up on time is good because there’s no thinking involved. it’s “Okay, 7 o’clock, time to get up!” ... if you stay in bed you have to think how long you’re going to snooze, whether you should set another alarm, and once you’ve ignored it once, it’s so easy to ignore it again …!
i won’t mark this as done just yet because it’s still a challenge for me to get up; it’s not automatic just yet. i’m sure it will be if i keep strict with myself.
